Medicare Advantage Plans in Los Angeles County.  Please see the benefit chart below for an outline of the plan.

If you live in Los Angeles County, below is a benefit outline for the Anthem MediBlue Select HMO plan.  If you need freedom of choice with doctors and hospitals you will need to look into a Medicare Supplement plan.

Aetna Medicare PPO Plans:
  • Monthly Premium:  $98
  • Deductible:  $0  ($750 for out of network only)
  • Dr visit Copay:  $5
  • Specialist Copay:  $40
  • Hospital:  $210/days 1-4
  • Out of pocket maximum:  $6,700
  • Benefits and copays may change slightly per county.

2020 Open-Enrollment for Medicare Advantage and Medicare Part D Rx plans opens October 15 and runs through December 7th for a January 1 2020 effective date. Be sure to make all changes during this time.

Medicare Advantage plans are county specific, meaning each year the companies offering Medicare Advantage plans can change benefits, add or remove plans from counties and change premiums.  In 2020 Aetna has the only Medicare Advantage PPO plan available in Los Angeles County.

A Medicare Supplement on the other hand can provide better coverage, greater access to doctors and hospitals, and you don’t have to concern yourself with any networks.  If a doctor, hospital or facility “accepts Medicare” you can use them for care and treatment.

The most popular Medicare Supplement plans are Plan F, G and N.  All have a different level of coverage.  Please call and I can explain how all of this world and see if it will be a good fit for your needs and budget.

With a Medicare Supplement there are 3 parts:  1) You will have Original Medicare which consists of Medicare Part A (hospital coverage) and Part B (outpatient services).  2) is the Medicare Supplement and 3) is the Medicare Part D Prescription drug plan.  Medicare Supplement plans do NOT include the Part D Rx plan coverage.
