SHORT-TERM … Plans for a few days up to a maximum of 6 months. Short term plans are guaranteed enrollment regardless of current or previous health status, and are comprehensive major medical plan which include coverage for: hospital, doctor visits, Rx, lab & x-ray, physical therapy, emergency evac, and much more. LONG-TERM … The long-term coverage is for the person needing coverage over 6 months, up to an annual renewable policy. The GeoBlue Voyager is considered a short-term plan, offering international medical coverage for a few days up to 6 months. The Voyager is ideal for business travel, vacations, visiting relatives, students and cruise trips.
Quote options allow you to change deductible options, add or remove Rx coverage, dental coverage and you can add or remove U.S. coverage.
The GeoBlue Xplorer is the Long-Term plan which covers you outside and inside the U.S. and is designed to support the international lifestyles of those who travel to or from the United States for extended periods of business, leisure and study.
If you leave home for six months or more, your health and financial security are at serious risk because of significant gaps in most available insurance coverage and services. This risk is only heightened by limited knowledge of health and safety hazards around the world, including medical treatment from unfamiliar providers.
- An insured person must be under age 75.
Pre-existing conditions: The GeoBlue Xplorer plan does not cover services for treatment of a medical condition for which medical advice, diagnosis, care, or treatment was recommended or received during 180 days immediately preceding the member’s eligibility date.
Creditable coverage: The 180-day pre-existing conditions period can be reduced or eliminated if you have been covered by a creditable group or individual health insurance plan.
Licensed & Admitted: This policy is a U.S. Admitted plan and affords members unique protections not available on most offshore plans.
Trip Coverage Period Start Date: For a scheduled trip to a foreign country, the insured person’s coverage starts when he/she boards a conveyance at the start of the trip.
Trip coverage period End Date: coverage ends: (1) for a scheduled trip to a foreign country, when the insured person alights from a conveyance at the completion of the trip; or (2) if the insured person is covered under the Medical Evacuation Benefit, upon the insured person’s evacuation to his/her home area.
Treatment Received from Foreign Country Providers: Benefits from services and supplies received from foreign country providers are covered. The insured person may seek the assistance of GeoBlue in locating a provider.
